The completely talented fundraisers from Cal Poly are Joese Garcia, Kumar Sarhad, Daphney Silver, Jaq Sicilia, Kendahl Stein, Mandy Holm and Lauren Silva.
You can’t run a tournament without refs and volunteers. Driving down from Danville to help were Troy Dillingham, Garrett Weiss, Mitch Stein, Parker Doliber, Kevin Vaughan, Blake Haisley, Gabe Sandler and Max Mendes.
Not only are they wearing really cool FUNDaFIELD tshirts, this group of seven business students from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo have recently spent their free time raising money and awareness and for FUNDaFIELD. In 10 short weeks they have raised almost $4,000!
How did they do it...lots of work! Restaurant sponsorships at CPK, Woodstocks and Chino’s started their fundraising efforts and the grand finale was this7v7 soccer tournament. The tournament required approval and support from the university, public sponsorship, and community involvement in the actual event. The tournament ran 9:00 - 5:00 on May 29th. There was a men’s bracket and a co-ed bracket which each had eight teams. Sponsors for the event included local businesses: Albertson’s, SloCo Soccer, and Chino’s Rock and Tacos.
The community effort raised $1,155 and the total funds raised by the group is approximately $4,000. All proceeds are being donated to FUNDaFIELD with the goal of building a Cal Poly soccer field in Uganda. Great job!
